Ali'i Ai'moku Hā'Mākua Ke'ē'aimokū
HāʻMākua Keʻēʻaimokū is the First Born Son of the First District of Hamakua, whom traces his family’s heritage in the "Breath of God" back thousands of years; principally in the settlements and villages of Waipio Valley (the Valley of the Kings) all through the 7 Sacred Valleys of Hawai'i, Honoka`a, and Namoku "Haina" on the Northeast side of Hawai`i Island. After creating numerous successful businesses on the island, Ha`Makua heard the call back to the traditional ways, back to this heritage.
The traditional Hawaiian concepts of Ho`oponopono (conflict resolution), Lokahi (unity) and Aloha (love) were instilled in Ha`Makua while a youth; as he watched his grandfather and father’s leadership in activities on the local, island-wide, national and international levels. He learned how to perpetuate Hawai`i’s traditional ahupua`a system – i.e., how to care for and sustain earth’s precious resources. He learned the ways of a konohikinui (navigator), to fish and hunt, to tend cattle, to farm kalo "taro" and la'au lapa'au "medicinal herbs", he gathered and fed people, and ultimately, learned the underlying economic principals and essential elements of life that allows the people to live a pono (righteous) life – without at lot of resources; viewing the concept of “wealth” in terms of resources with the senses of intelligence (be it: natural, intellectual, emotional, or constructed) rather than simply the possession of materialism of financial perception.
